Safe to say that the visit to the farm was a huge success! The children loved petting and feeding the animals and learning that we must care and respect them in equal measure.

Thereâs no better classroom than the great outdoors!đż
Our children love their forest school outings, where every stick, leaf, flower and muddy puddle becomes an opportunity to learn and grow.
As they observe nature up close, the children develop curiosity, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Listening carefully to safety rules and respecting boundaries helps them build confidence and learn how to take safe, managed risks.
Working together is at the heart of every session, whether itâs building, exploring, or sharing discoveries. These moments encourage teamwork, communication, and strong friendships đł

The children have recently been fascinated by birds đŚ 𪺠and began wondering why our birdhouse had no visitors.
âMaybe because itâs too small? Maybe itâs for little birdsâ one child thoughtfully suggested.
Inspired by their curiosity, one of our student teachers created a beautiful hands-on activity to explore different types of birdsâ nests. The children examined how nests are built and what materials birds might use, sparking lots of ideas and creativity.
Using clay and a variety of natural resources, the children then designed and built their own nests đżđŞľ Each one was unique, reflecting their imagination and growing understanding of the natural world.
A wonderful example of how childrenâs questions can lead to meaningful learning experiences đ

Somehow we forgot to put this up last year. Link to full OFSTED report in bio. Very proud to see Unity Montessoriâs work recognised in such a way.

âWhat is it like to attend this early years setting?â
âThe provision is outstandingâ
âChildren at this joyful setting achieve to the best of their potential. They thrive in the calm and harmonious atmosphere created by the experienced and thoughtful teaching team. The leaders of the setting have a clear ethos. They know precisely what is important for the children to learn and ensure the cohesive team provides a consistent approach in the way it teaches the children. Children feel valued and safe and are ready to learn.â
âThe resourceful leadership team prioritises childrenâs independence, self-care, curiosity and love of learning. All of these are fostered in abundance. The team has high expectations, trusts the childrenâs capabilities and provides every opportunity for them to discover that they can do things for themselves. Even the very youngest children at the setting take great care of the meticulously planned learning environment. They treat resources with respect and carefully replace their activities when they have finished exploring them.â
âChildren benefit from learning together across the age range. The older children offer help and support to the younger ones when needed. They gently remind them to say âpleaseâ and âthank youâ to the teaching staff when asking for help. Children are kind to each other, play cooperatively and behave exceptionally well. Staff speak to the children with courtesy, and children respond to their requests and instructions promptly.â
âWhat does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?â
âChildren are treated as individuals. All the team are aware of what each child needs to learn next.â
âThe teamâs interactions with the children are excellent.â
âParents cannot speak highly enough of the team. They praise the way the team knows the childrenâs unique needs.â
